I love big cities. So when I found out I would be going to Chicago for the Association of Midwest Museums’ 2018 conference, I was very excited.
Of course I did some exploring of my own, but that did not compare to the field trips Erin (author of the previous post) and I got to go on as part of the conference.
In the Arts and Design District, right off Main street, sits the Museum of Miniature Houses and Other Collections Inc. Founded by Suzanne Landshof, Nancy Lesh and Suzzie Moffett in 1993, it is one of only five museums in the nation dedicated to miniatures.
The museum includes about 30 miniature houses and 50 room boxes. Some pieces are based on story books, some come from the artists imagination, and other are replicas of existing structures.
